Electric Vehicle Charging
Installation of EV charging stations for convenient charging solutions
OZEV Approved Installer
Kingsnorth Electrical is an OZEV-approved EV Charger installer. The UK's Office for Zero Emission Vehicles (OZEV) provides grants to support the installation of electric vehicle (EV) chargepoints and we are approved for both domestic (EV Chargepoint Grant) and workplace (WCS) schemes:
The Electric Vehicle Chargepoint Grant:
The Electric Vehicle (EV) Chargepoint Grant is a government grant that helps people pay for the cost of installing an electric vehicle (EV) charger at a residential property. It replaced the Electric Vehicle Homecharge Scheme (EVHS) on April 1, 2022. Here are some details about the EV Chargepoint Grant:
A new application process has been introduced for this grant, aimed at making the application experience smoother and more efficient. If you began an application before 08/08/2024, its status will now display as “grant closed” in your Find a Grant account, and you will need to start a new application. To do so, please use the 'Start new application' button above. We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.
This grant supports electric vehicle (EV) drivers with the costs of purchasing and installing EV chargepoints at residential properties, provided a cross-pavement charging solution (e.g., a cable channel) is also being installed. The grant covers up to 75% of the cost of the chargepoint socket purchase and installation, up to a maximum of £350.
Eligibility Criteria
You are eligible to apply for this grant if you:
- Own or rent the residential property in which you live.
- Plan to install a cross-pavement charging solution along with the chargepoint (temporary solutions like cable covers or mats do not qualify).
- Have not yet installed the chargepoint, as the grant cannot be applied retroactively.
- Have adequate on-street parking as defined by your local planning and highways authority.
- Do not have private or exclusive access to off-street parking (e.g., a driveway, garage or private car park).
- Have obtained permission from your local planning and highways authority to install both the chargepoint and cross-pavement solution.
- Own or are responsible for an eligible vehicle.
Some local authorities may offer financial support toward the cross-pavement charging solution, which applicants are encouraged to explore directly with their local authority. Guidance for local authorities on implementing cross-pavement solutions is forthcoming; however, local authorities may still grant permissions for such installations in the meantime.
The Workplace Charging Scheme (WCS):
This grant provides support for businesses, charities and public sector organisations to install EV chargepoints. It covers up to 75% of the cost, capped at £350 per socket, with a maximum of 40 sockets across all sites per applicant.
These grants aim to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles by making charging infrastructure more accessible and affordable.
We are approved to install all models of EV chargers from Schneider to Rolec, to EO and more.
See the approved list of electric chargepoint models covered by the grant for further information.
