Solar PV & EV Car Charger Install – Domestic Property, Ashford March25

This install, completed in March 2025 was undertaken at a residential property in Ashford. The houses on this estate are less than 10 years old, well insulated and aimed at family living.

The project involved installing solar panels on the rear south / south westerly aspect of the house along with panels on the rear aspect of the detached garage, allowing the customer to maximise output throughout the day. To compliment the panel output, a 10kw Solaredge battery was connected to the system to allow the customer to use stored energy outside of daylight hours. A backup interface unit was also added allowing the customer to access solar energy in the event of a power cut. Without this unit, the solar energy is not accessible during this time.

The electric vehicle charging on the garage point creates a further opportunity for the customer to be as energy efficient as possible, charging their car either directly from the solar production, via the energy from their battery or on a cheaper electric rate overnight (if offered by their energy provider).
